Taiwan Food Feb 2005

Sweet Tofu with Taro Balls, originally uploaded by cottontimer.

Photos of the food my parents and I enjoyed on our trip are now up in my Flickr Taiwan Food Feb 2005 album. Come take a look and leave some comments there or here if you have any questions!

NB: I took some of the pictures while others were taken by my mom or dad.

We’re Back

Stephen and I returned from Taiwan this afternoon. It was easily one of the most memorable vacations I’ve ever had. More when I’ve finally had time to process it all.

Meanwhile, the men in my family are having an accident-prone start to the year. My dad fell in Taiwan while collecting rocks on the beach and had to have five stitches put in very close to his right eye. Marv sliced his finger on a golf bag zipper. And Stephen fell while we were at a nature preserve in Taiwan and cut his upper lip that had me worried he broke a tooth, but it turned out to be minor. Then when we got home today, he fell from the sofa after a misstep off a cushion and bit his lower lip quite badly. Fortunately, the bleeding stopped rapidly so I don’t think any stitches are necessary.

It’s good to be home and I’m looking foward to sleeping in our own bed tonight!

Off To Taiwan

Stephen and I are going to Taiwan tomorrow for a week. We’ll be joining my parents who’ve been there since the start of Chinese New Year. Hope we’ll be able to collect a lot of hong bao money for Stephen!

Saving money by putting Stephen in the suitcase instead of getting him a seat.

I’ll continue posting my usual nonsense next week.

Where I’ve Been

Before meeting Marv, I often told people that I had no interest in travelling outside of the U.S. because there was already so much to see within the U.S. What a numbskull. Anyway, I haven’t achieved my goal of visiting every state. Guess I have a few more years to attempt it.

Someday, I’ve got to do more globe trotting too. I’ve been living outside of the U.S. since 1998, but still haven’t made it to too many countries. It’s still more places than I would have expected 20 years ago!
