I just called the U.S. to change the address of one of our magazine subscriptions.
Me: ## Street Name, SINGAPORE #######
Customer Service: And is that still in the United Kingdom?
Me: @#! No, that’s in Singapore. Republic of Singapore.

I guess you live in Southampton, then? You’re much closer than I thought!
That’s ok… I live in London Ontario Canada. During the year I lived in London UK, I tried to change my address with the bank where I had my student loan. For a few months I didn’t get any written communication from the bank. Finally I called, and I realized that the bank thought that I moved from a London Ontario address to another London Ontario address. I said to the operator that the postal code in the UK is different from the postal code in Canada, and how couldn’t tell the difference? The operator asked, “How could I know?”
Duh!
I was supposed to receive some reimbursement from my insurance account of my student’s days. A year after I returned to Sg, I received a letter with a familiar looking company stamp in German.
On the address was something like that:
XXX Street XXX
Singapur XXXX
Thailand
I have work letters from the HQ in NY, but for some reason, they kept changing my last name to Kohl! Like, am I Cindy? Joking, people!
