Hello, Red Fox
Posted by Cottontimer on 30 May 2008 | Tagged as: Knick Knacks, London
This morning we found this little red fox asleep at our front door. My mother-in-law says it’s good luck because foxes belong to the Canidae family. Cats, on the other hand, are bad luck. I’m unable to confirm what she says but OldSupersitions.com says that seeing a lone fox is good luck.
NB: Hello, Red Fox is an Eric Carle book.

How awesome is that!! I wonder how it got there?
Adorable! I can’t believe he didn’t wake up when you took his picture. By the way Eric Carle was born here in Syracuse where I live. He’s a favorite here in my house.
so cute! must have been quite lost to be sleeping so openly and on your door mat.
foxes are considered pests? still cute to me.
you are due soon right? will keep checking your blog for updates
This is absolutely cool!
so cute! can you take one as a pet in UK?
How fortunate! Good omens for good times ahead…
The fox came back that same night. S/he trotted up our driveway but caught us watching it through the window and hasn’t come back since….
That is darling! I bet your entry mat has been Mr.Fox’s bed for many nights.
BTW, I had no idea that Eric Carle was from Syracuse–I live an hour away, so that interests me! Thanks to Blaine.
To my mother-in-law’s great disappointment, we haven’t seen the fox again.
