Shai, You have more hobbies than anyone I know! But at the same time, I think you do keep up with most of them. w00t

Deb, How could a store NOT carry DMC? The cheap substitute floss is utter crap. Maybe good for friendship bracelets but not much else.

And no stitcher ever has enough 310! Scary that I still know instantly that it's black. ;)

Yeah, I think I'll give myself another 10 years before giving away my stash. heh

I can understand the sentiment behind that thinking, but am refusing to let go of some of my hobbies. :-D

My hobby that I've not done anything with in a few years (other than increasing stash) is scrapbooking. And I'm not going to get rid of my stuff either.

It would be total madness to do so.

I've not done much needlework or sewing or crafting, either, but it brings me pleasure when I do have time.

Give yourself more than one year! Maybe five, or ten, because I don't think those de-cluttering crazies take into account those of us who put things on hiatus when our kids are tiny.

And having to later re-purchase all the supplies we already have, when we finally have some time to put into our hobbies, makes no sense what-so-ever.

Especially when the economy is going into a recession, and finding good quality supplies is becoming harder. (one of my local fabric shops quit carrying DMC!!! Now they carry a cheap made-in-China "equivalent". The strands are thinner, and they feel,... weird. Stiff? Thankfully there are still a couple other places that carry the DMC. I'd better go re-stock my 310)

Rosie, Oooh. Swimming definitely counts as a hobby but it is so NOT my thing. And it's not the whole bathing suit issue either. We were made to swim for a few months each year in high school and it was traumatizing because I wasn't very good at it and drank more pool water than I care to remember....

I think this means I should sell off my stash of beads and wire. It's not a kid-friendly hobby either!

My hobbies are identical to yours! Internet, needlework, reading. I like swimming too, but I'm not sure if it counts as a hobby. I suppose obsessing about food and exercise could be counted as a hobby.
