My mom hasn't ever complained about parents who want to come in and help in the classroom. Considering how many parents of her students don't seem to care about their kids' schooling, she'd probably be thrilled.

But I know one thing- a teacher who doesn't want a parent in the room makes me feel about as uneasy as a daycare provider who doesn't want parents dropping in unannounced.

Well said. Now, if only parents could trust teachers to do their jobs rather than saying:

"I have 30 kids in my class and just can't help everyone with all of their issues..."
