You’re Not My Mom

Believe it or not. I’ve actually had kids say this to me when I prevented them from bashing their skulls in at the pool doing one of their crazy stunts. Where were their parents? Many floors up in their apartment.

I’ve tried to teach my kids to respect authority … be critical and suspicious, but respectful. This seems like the parents were not fully engaged in parenting, eh?
You can’t even call those people “parents.” The kids were only around 8 years old and were allowed to go down to the pool on their own where there are no lifeguards. They were jumping off deck chairs into the pool. Those chairs could easily have slipped and instead of their face hitting water, they could have bit the cement instead. Stupid.
i hate parents like those!! the kind that don’t look after their kids. what if there was an accident and they we’rent their. i taught my raine to listen to other adults too.
Gloria, Those kids not only had no respect for adults, they were stupid too boot! Anybody, child or adult, with a lick of common sense would have realized that doing what they were doing could have lead to blood and gore.
