Sunday Salon: Books Weighing Me Down

Time to buckle down and choose one of these to finish.

The Gene Makeover (reviewing for work)
All these half-read books (and magazines) lying around weigh me down so that I can barely enjoy reading.* I should learn to just let books go unfinished but I had good reasons for starting each of them. So I shall plow on today with Reading Lolita in Tehran and make that finish my goal for the week.
*I did have fun reading Tom Clancy’s The Teeth of the Tiger. How sad that it’s most likely the end of the Jack Ryan series. *sniff* (Yes, I’m a rare woman who reads spy thrillers.)

Does the phrase ‘plow on’ mean that you’re finding this hard going? I’m sorry if that’s the case, because it was one of my non-fiction reads of the year. I hope you manage to get something out of it?
Hi Ann, I’m definitely finding Reading Lolita in Tehran hard-going but perhaps part of it is a lack of concentration on my part. When I had 15 minutes of silence today to read, I found myself getting into it again.
I like spy thrillers!!
I just don’t read very many of them.
Would you believe me if I said that I actually shed a few tears while reading Teeth of the Tiger? What a sissy!

I have discovered that I enjoy reading spy thrillers too, although I have not read many. Yet.
I hope you reach your goal and finish the books you set out to. I am hoping to do the same this week as well with at least at least one of my current books.
Thanks for the comment, LF! If I do about 30 pages a night this week, I’ll be able to finish Reading Lolita in Tehran. One of my friends was surprised that I’d calculate it pages/day.
