A Fiber Optic Christmas
Posted by Cottontimer on 28 Nov 2007 | Tagged as: London
For the past several years, we’ve made-do with a three-foot tall Christmas tree. This year, I thought Stephen would enjoy a tree that’s bigger than him so I “splurged” and ordered this five-foot tall fiber optic Christmas tree.
And, look! Here’s the tree in action.
Update: I’m not the only one with a fiber optic tree!

Ooh that’s so cool!
Sheila, The fiber optic lights are less tacky than I expected!
Oh, that’s so sad. Charlie Brown had the right idea.
Kathy, What’s so sad? Would you believe I had to look up what the deal was with Charlie Brown and his Christmas tree?!
I suppose it’s a ‘green’ solution …
I’m going to stick with my dead-tree throwback.
mdmhvonpa, The tree you guys put up at your parents’ (?) is BEAUTIFUL. I’d go that route if I could handle the mess.
The last real tree we got insisted on growing mold in its water… and I even used the Sekrit Xmas Tree Food Recipe… the one with bleach. You’d think bleach would discourage mold growth…
Sooooo gross.
So we have an artificial tree, because the other solution is a potted tree. We just don’t have the room to put pine type trees on our property. Our neighbor has a tree that’s full grown, and it takes up half of her front yard. The math says that if I got rid of everything in our yard- bushes, trees, flowers, greenhouse, space for playing - I could get a live pine tree for 6 Christmases. And then I’d be out of space.
I got a little rambly… what I was going to say is that the fiber optic tree is kinda cool! I didn’t know they made such trees.
I noticed that there are clear LED Christmas lights on the market this year. If I remember before they’re sold out, I’ll have to get a string or two.
I enjoyed your Christmas tree remembrances, Deb.
Thank you for not dissing my tree!!
