My worst flight experience was when I was on one of those small tiny commuter planes and it had to fly at such a low altitude that it was boiling hot inside. Fortunately, the flight was only an hour long but I thought I was going to start panicking. And I was on my own! I hope I'm never in such a situation with Stephen. It’s enough to keep me at home! So you're right that it's getting more and more common. Now I'll be really nervous on my next flight until we're in the air and even then.... When we went through customs coming back and had to go through security again, we were again not supposed to have water but the security guy gave us an exception for the baby. The scary thing is that these stories are getting more and more common. There was the plane a couple of years ago that wouldn't let the passengers off for 24 hours because it was an international flight and they were forced by weater to land in an airport without immigration services. Those people had no food AND the toilets were full. My big fear is to be trapped on one of these flights with Erik, who a) smokes so he gets grouchy and b) doesn't fit comfortably in any seat on an airplane. I don't think he would stand for being told he couldn't leave. We were recently stuck on a US tarmac for 2+hours going nowhere (our flight was delayed, then cancelled but there was no gate available to let us off!) After another 2 hours of waiting in line, we were rushed/escorted to make it on board another airline, only to sit on the tarmac again for 2+ hours b/f taking off. We were traveling with another couple - we had a 5 month old, they had a 16 month old. And yes, DEFINITELY take water and food!! It’s torture.
