Half My Life is Over

John C. Welch at bynkii.com on working in the tech industry when you’re born on or before 1972:
There are far too many people out there who’s only crime is being over 35, and not having the right paper from a university. Dori Smith has talked about the fact that she hasn’t been able to land a “real” job since 1998, yet she’s one of the best people out there for Javascript/AJAX/etc. Don’t take my word for it, google her name, and see the reams of info you get back. Sh*t that people want and need. But no one wants a middle aged woman who can pound out code with the best of them. [emphasis mine]
OMG. Am I really “a middle aged woman”?
Come to think of it, gray hair don’t lie.

You can not be middle aged, because that would make me middle aged….and there is no way that I am.
Since when is 35 middle aged anyway??? I hear people live way past 100. these days…so I figure we have at least 15 years, before we hit the dreaded m.a years. and 15 years is a long time.
We are still very young looking (with the help of hair dye) and are very fun girls…..just look at your collection of toys ~ you have the best ones!!!!
And besides, middle aged unmarried women equals spinster. and that is sooooo not me!
Hair dye? Speak for yourself! hrmph
Oh puh-leeze!
I know you at least think about it!!!
ok so my dad is turning 40 tomorrow and is all frustrated about it. hes sayin half of his life is over. no its not. o well. i love him and its great he stiks around wen he can just walk out ne itme he wants. i love you dad.
Happy Birthday to your dad, nunya!
You aren’t middle-aged. And I’ve had grey hair since high school.
I was just reading some stuff at a random “home remedy health care” site the other day. It mentioned some symptom (I can’t remember what it was) and how it may be connected to the onset or final stages of menopause. Then it stated that these symptoms were common among middle-aged women.
I figure 50 and some change are middle age years.
40 is the new 30, and 30 is the new 20, thanks to beauties like Kate Walsh and disasters like Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears.
