Stumbling on Fruit

What is it with these clever books that have fruit featured prominently on the cover? First there was Freakonomics, then Survival of the Sickest, both of which had apples on the cover. And now the cover of Stumbling on Happiness has an upturned bowl of cherries. Cory Doctorow of Boing Boing recommends the book highly. As for me, I’ve always been partial to Mary Engelbreit’s Life is Just a Chair of Bowlies.

It’s the fruits of all their labors, perhaps providing knowledge like a certain apple once did (am I being too allusive)?
Have you finished Survival of the Sickest, if so what did you think? I was unsure how well it compared to Why we get Sick, and am waiting for your comment before choosing which one to get.
kristina: Now we know why you’re the classics professor!
Snowy: You know, I’m having a hard time making it through Survival of the Sickest. It’s probably not the book’s fault. I’m feeling overwhelmed with reading about genetics and health all the time that I’ve mostly been reading fiction lately or other totally unrelated material.
