It's definitely best when it's an hor'dourves buffet. So anything that is already bite-sized is generally in the "safe meeting food" category.

And to combat the "food stuck in teeth" problem, chew with the back teeth, and carry handy-dandy floss pics in your purse. this page is an example of what I'm talking about. Just excuse yourself to freshen up, and in the relative privacy of the ladies' room you can remove all sorts of food bits.

My issue isn't about whether the food is messy; it's about scanning the menu and deciding what I want to eat in a reasonable amount of time. I can spend *forever* agonizing over which option I'd like to eat. Indecisiveness is probably not the trait I want to demonstrate at a business meeting, LOL.

Kerri: Cake meetings would be a dream.

Sheila: Ohhh. I don't like to eat crab much at all because it's such a pain!! But I will make an exception for close friends and family. ;)

So I am guessing you would not have enjoyed the crab feed I just attended, where bibs are mandatory and you break the crab apart with your hands, sending juice and bits of crab all over everyone around you. I got home and found a tiny little piece in my hair that no one bothered to tell me was there. Niiice.

Going out for a meal with just a book for company is one of my favorite indulgences!!! The thought of eating soup in front of people is frightening to me, though. Always afraid of dribbling down my chin. :) How 'bout little quesadillas or something? Or maybe just cake meetings from now on. ;)
