It has to be otherwise why would it be so pervasive (or maybe not…)? I don’t take swearing or cursing all that seriously unless someone is actually being cursed out and there are negative feelings and tension involved. But clearly, other people find it extremely offensive and I apologize for my foul tongue . For them the profanity filter could come in very handy. I bet headphones that filter swearing in spoken conversation would be a big hit. I know a few people who’d appreciate it.

If you’re feeling particularly profane and don’t want to be filtered, You Are Damned is very handy. El Diablo himself was d***ed for “being evil minded.” Not quite as satisfying as a voodoo doll but pretty darn close.
