Urdu is the fifth most spoken language in the world. Which mean a lot of people understand and uses the language. It's economically useful because if a British understand Urdu, he/she can trade with 1 out of 5 people in the world and that number is growing by the day. It's an Indo-Aryan language, not too difficult for Europeans to pick up when compared to Mandarin. Really, it’s not big deal to be able to speak Urdu.
