First Day of NaBloPoMo

Curious how when the pressure is on, I have nothing to say.
So how’s about them Knicks? Oh, wait. I care nothing for basketball.
I sought some help from the Imagination Prompt Generator and went through at least 20 before I decided on this very insightful question:
Do you get upset when people don’t do what you tell them to? Why?
Damn right I do! The obvious answer is that I, like everyone else, think that I know the best way to do many things. I don’t claim to know how to do everything but if I feel motivated to give someone advice, it’s because I’ve done my research and come to an informed opinion. But if they ignore me or insist on doing it another way without convincing me otherwise with their evidence, it not only annoys me, it worries and disappoints me.
When I’ve gone to the trouble of helping someone out with my advice (and I only advise people when they’ve asked me to), I want them to succeed. Also, when they don’t do what I suggest, it’s a slam on me, my credibility, and my ego. Why wasn’t I worth listening to? I wonder.
Anyway, that was kind of a boring start to NaBloPoMo. Hope tomorrow I’ll have a better story to tell. I’m taking my mother-in-law shopping at Oxford Circus and then to Chinatown. Hope I can find a pair of hiking shoes like these from Fat Face. They didn’t have my size. The nerve!

Hmmmm. Are you a first born by any chance?
Me too.
It’s the first day of NaBloPoMo and you have nothing to write? LOL! Boy, you’re in for a long month! Just kidding.
I used to get upset about people asking for advice and then doing the total opposite of what I suggested. Then I realized that some people ask for advice just so they can vent. They’re really not ready to do anything about their problem yet.
Kate: I’m a first born but only by a year! My poor sister.
kailani: If only I had a brain…. Must.Go.To.Bed.
As for needing to vent, my advice is: Don’t ask for advice if you don’t want to listen!
