Legoland Ate My Shoes

We went to Legoland Windsor yesterday (see full story and pics at Play Library) and look at what happened to my Salomon shoes at the end of the day.
I had to resort to tying up the soles with my shoelaces or I would have had to flip flop around the park for the last hour. And these are hiking shoes! Granted, they’re about 10 years old, but they haven’t seen half as much wear as they would have had if I’d gone hiking in the Himalayan foothills. Good thing I’m just a couch potato.

Reminds me of folks who buy SUVs and the minute the leave the black-top the durned things go to pieces. Ever hear the old Billy Crystal Quip? Paraphrased: “Remember; it does not matter how you feel, it’s how you look!” The shoes looked great, they were just not made for walking. (Nancy Sinatra?)
mdmhvonpa: In their defense, the shoes were very cozy and comfortable. Of course, when the soles came off, not so comfortable anymore!
