dressbarn Ads Don’t Impress

I don’t know what target audience dressbarn is aiming for but I am not impressed. Just the fact that they don’t capitalize their company name is annoying enough but check out these two ads.
What state are you from?
Ohio
Name a state you wouldn’t want to be from.
The state of confusion
I like your hair. Is it natural?
Mostly.
Who’s your best friend?
My mother.
Have you ever won anything?
No, but I have a winning smile.
What are you looking for in life?
Health and happiness. And my car keys.
What’s your favorite sport?
Is shopping a sport?
The last three Q&A’s make me think this woman is a total loser airhead!
What do you do?
Try to have fun.
For a living?
Oh. I teach kindergarten.
What lesson should we learn?
Laugh often.
Favorite bird?
Bird of paradise.
Isn’t that a plant?
Okay, you’re right.
Favorite mathematical formula?
50% off.
What do you dream about?
A day off.
Is this someone you’d want teaching your children? She can’t distinguish an animal from a plant and she wishes for a day off from, presumably, those little devil students?!

I’ve never been too interested in buying anything I’m going to wear from a any kind of a barn, myself.
river2sea72: I sort of identified with the barn part. HAHAHA
I was going to say the same. Why is it that they think anything with the word “barn” would inspire a woman to come in and try on clothes? As if I don’t feel like a cow enough as it is, let’s encourage that line of thinking. Though, they’ve been around for a long while, so apparently it’s working for someone.
I don’t know, they sound like the sort of glib answers someone gives when they are trying to be funny and just not quite making it. Kind of like me
But I agree dressbarn doesn’t really sound that appealing a name. Pottery Barn–maybe. dressbarn–not so much.
oh but the model is absolutely beautiful…maybe that’s the only thing working for them? I don’t quite what they are either…
thoughts-
the level of ignorance of many teachers is appalling.
this list of Q&A’s is probably made-up anyway.
I’ve no desire to buy my clothes from a barn.
and most importantly, why is there no online store?! Or at least a fashion review so potential shoppers would have a reason to go to the bother of finding an “in-store location”.
