Have you Forgotten? by Darryl Worley

Excerpt from a Darryl Worley song Pandora Internet Radio found for me.
I hear people saying we don’t need this war
I say there’s some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground
We didn’t get to keep ‘em by backing down
They say we don’t realize the mess we’re getting in
Before you start your preaching let me ask you this my friend
Have you forgotten how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside going thru a living hell
And you say we shouldn’t worry ’bout bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
Yikes.

Good looks AND something to say worth listening to? yowza!
That cliche of beauty pageants “I want world peace” sums up so much. Sadly, imho, as long as there’s people, there will always be a few who want to take things that aren’t theirs; and they won’t care who they hurt along the way. Someone has to at least keep them in line, if they can’t be done away with entirely.
:/
Oh brother.
Here’s a good antidote I’m sure you know:
Daylight again, following me to bed
I think about a hundred
years ago, how my fathers bled
I think I see a valley,
covered with bones in blue
All the brave soldiers that
cannot get older been askin’ after you
Hear the past a callin’, from Armegeddon’s side
When everyone’s talkin’ and noone is listenin’,
how can we decide?
(Do we) find the cost of
freedom, buried in the ground
Mother earth will
swallow you, lay your body down
Find the cost of freedom,
buried in the ground
- Find the Cost of Freedom by Neil Young
Has Darryl Worley forgotten that Iraq != bin Laden?
It worries me that history is being rewritten pretty much as it’s happening. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, but Mr Worley is singing about it like it’s fact!
Hi There!
I haven’t visited for awhile but I always enjoy coming back to your site. There’s always so many interesting bits of information AND entertainment.
As to this post, you don’t want to get me started!
All the best to you and your family. Hopefully it isn’t as miserably hot in London as it is here.
What a creepy song. I am wary of passing judgement on these wars, but I have to say he seems to be aiming for the blazing patriots market niche. I don’t think I would want to listen to it. And sorry but he looks like a d***head!
And this is what makes america great. (?)
Deb: Stop drooling.
river2sea7s: Beautiful lyrics. I’ll have to go listen to the song to see if I know it.
Miriam: I thought Iraq was Bin Laden’s middle name?!
gracefruit: Artistic license?
goldenlucyd: Hi! Missed you.
It’s been hot in London but still tolerable. We’re going to California soon to experience the record heat waves and no electricity.
sar: Hi! Thanks for the comment. Of all the countries I’ve ever lived, life in the U.S. is still the easiest. Seriously.
Rosie: D*ckhead! (Did you one better.)
