Donna: Thanks! After this last shopping trip, I'll be happy if I don't have to go for another few months. It is darn hard work.

I've been working backwards through your entries and so read the newest one before this--you succeeded in finding something that was really lovely and suited you. Now I want to go shopping!

Snowy: I do like what they have to say whenever I see them on. Will go flip through their book sometime although I suspect that I'll have to get rid of even more clothes after that!

mipmup: I'm afraid I don't appreciate shopping as much as I used to. But, I'm pleased to have a store I like. Whew!

Deb: I put on some make-up even if it was probably more ordinary than elegant. :D Still, I'm glad I made an effort!

Best of luck with finding girlie duds. I ~loathe~ shopping for clothing about 95% of the time.

I'd say to put on your elegant-face makeup, and you can carry off any outfit, even if it is 10 years old and a little tired. Unless your clothes are truly hideous, people aren't going to remember them. At least that's my guess :)

I should have commented before, personally I think Trinny and Susannah's programme called "What not to Wear" is brillaint for helping to choose clothes. Their ladies look like real people, with big boobs and saggy tummies, and they really help to find the bits that do look good and emphasize those. They talk through why we try to hide in oversized stuff, or remain fixed in an out-of-date style, because that was the time when we were happiest...
I think they have a book out, try leafing through it in W.H.Smiths, and see what you think!

Rosie: I feel too embarrassed to ask! And, I'm also afraid I'd be tempted to spend too much money if they came up with some wonderful things for me. haha

parentingjoy: The Swan is very very creepy. Most of the women end up with duck lips! I've stopped watching it because they do nothing but plastic surgery with little fashion advice.

Wini: Awww. Thanks! But if I wore nothing else, I think the restaurant would clear out pretty fast.

mdmhvonpa: In my unfashionable opinion, bootleg pants are pretty close to bell bottoms. And I'm wearing a pair of bootleg jeans right now! :P

Raymond: Congrats!!

KChew: But I still got to find something new. *sob* I will force myself to go out in a half hour's time and buy something even if it kills me.

No need for a makeover--beauty is skin deep. Find something new you'll know you will want to wear again!

Over the years I've been able to be more comfortable about dressing as "the real me," which is some version of Bay Area/Berkeley/Pacific Northwest, with too much black.

Enjoy the time out and off!
