My sister and I have been members of the Stanford Book Salon for a couple of years. Last year, they sent members a little gold bookmark and today, I received bookplates with the most hilarious quotes.
Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.
~PJ O’Rourke, Humorist (1947-)I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book.
~Groucho Marx (1890-1977)The covers of this book are too far apart.
~Ambrose Bierce, U.S. author and satirist (1842-1914)Never judge a book by its movie.
~JW EaganI read part of it all the way through.
~Samuel Goldwyn, Movie producer (1882-1974)Most new books are forgotten within a year, especially by those who borrow them.
~Evan Esar, American humorist (1899-1995)
