Obi-Wan’s New Talent

Why, skating of course!
Scene: Birthday dinner for 8-year-old boy and his summer school buddies. Two of the boys saw Stephen playing with his Lego Obi-Wan, who had a light saber in each hand and was skating.
Boys in obnoxious tone of voice: You’re not supposed to play with him like that.
Stephen is oblivious and continues skating Obi Wan around.
Me annoyed: It’s called imagination.
Boys: But you’re not supposed to play with him like that!
Me getting more pissed off: Do you always play with things the way other people tell you to? You guys are sticks-in-the-mud!
The boys aren’t quite sure what “stick-in-the-mud” means. They start running around the room taunting each other.
Boys: You’re a stick-in-the-mud! No, you’re a stick-in-the-mud.
How dare they make fun of my baby. Try that again and I’ll be kicking some butt!
