Procrastination

Why do people procrastinate?
If they lack knowledge of upcoming specific tasks, people act as if new demands will not inevitably arise that are as pressing as those that currently exist. When tomorrow changes into today, people discover they are too busy to do everything they promised.
~Scientific American, April 2005
I can’t claim to be too busy ever since I quit full-time work over five years ago. But, I also know that I never procrastinated because I didn’t have enough time.
These are some of the reasons I procrastinate:
- Too lazy.
- Scared of the outcome.
- Dislike the task.
- Waiting for someone else to do it.
- Think the need will go away.
- Hope the problem will solve itself.
- Figure that the task isn’t all that important.
