Honorable Mention

While I was gone, Cotton-Pickin’ Days received front page mention at noodlepie. Primarily a food blog focusing on street food in Ho Chi Minh City, noodlepie has been highlighted in the New York Times Travel section and is produced by professional writer, Graham Holliday, who has written for a wide range of publications.
On April 14, 2005, pieman wrote in his Vietnam blogs post,
Cottontimer - LiveJournal of an expat Mum in Saigon, regular commenter at noodlepie, pondering a move to Typepad. She updates her site daily and has lots of photos. Saigon.
It’s an honor to be noticed and I think the details included in the description are interesting.
More than a year ago, I debated the pros and cons of moving to TypePad. I know that LiveJournal is not well respected in the blogosphere and when my ego starts clamoring, I consider moving to my own website or to some place more respectable like Blogspot or TypePad. I decided to stay at LiveJournal mostly because of the community, the user-friendly features, and because I’d like this blog to be only semi-public.
It’s also nice to know that those who have found this blog appreciate my diligence in updating daily. I am proud that I have been able to maintain the discipline of writing a post almost every day. Keeping this blog has me on constant look-out for anything that I find amusing and/or stimulating. To tell the truth, I am a little grouchy until I’ve decided what to post for the day even if I have to wait until 11 p.m. to write it up.
Hope I didn’t miss too much on my week off. Back later to give an update if my sinus headache doesn’t blow up.
