Handwipes/Wet Tissues Subpar
Posted by Cottontimer on 11 Mar 2005 | Tagged as: Health

When we’re out and about, wet handwipes are my best friend. I know that washing our hands with soap and water would be best but sometimes public bathroom don’t seem all that clean either.
I usually carry several kinds of wet tissues. I have Pigeon Hand and Mouth wipes made in Japan that are meant to be used at meals (less chemicals), antibacterial wet tissues with alcohol and without, and baby wipes for tushies and other general use.
According to Dr. Mercola, three-quarters of Americans use a minimum of six antimicrobial products regularly. Unfortunately, handwipes only remove about 50% of bacteria as compared to handwashing with soap and water which removes about 90%.
I’m going to be more diligent about finding acceptable places to wash our hands. And I may start carrying some soap and a bottle of water for washing up at the park.
