Chinese Horoscope 2005

Every year, Marv consults Neil Somerville’s Your Chinese Horoscope while standing in the Times Newslink bookstore at Singapore’s Changi Airport. This year, I convinced him to buy a copy so I could research our horoscopes at home.
For the most part, the horoscopes seem to accurately describe us. If it’s to be believed, I can look forward to unexpected job opportunities perhaps allowing me to switch from research to other areas of science.
Water Rat
The Water Rat is intelligent and very astute. He is a deep thinker and can express his thoughts clearly and persuasively. He is always eager to learn and is talented in many different areas. He is usually very popular, but his fear of loneliness can sometimes lead him into mixing with the wrong sort of company. He is a particularly skilful writer, but he can get side-tracked very easily and should try to concentrate on just one thing at a time.
A key feature of the (Rooster 2005) year will be the speed with which events occur. Particularly at work, offers to take on new responsibilties could be made suddenly and with little warning, or opportunities could arise by chance. Also, there could be factors at work which the Water Rat may not always be aware of. Colleagues who know of his strengths could put in recommendations for him or those he meets during the course of his duties could be impressed and speak highly of him. Many Water Rats will find their reputation serving them well over the year, sometimes in unexpected ways. And by taking advantage of the opportunities that come his way, even if they represent quite a change, the Water Rat will not only advance his career but also add to his experience.
For those Water Rats seeking work, there could also be some surprises in store. Often the Water Rat will obtain a new position which is completely different from what he has previously been doing but which will not only be an excellent new opportunity for him but also have the potential for further development.
NB: This Chinese horoscope site seems to corroborate the horoscope given in the book.
